Holly Hughes, 43 of Nederland, left, said she's watched her mother, Diane LaPoint, "rebuild her life" as director of the Booty A. Ritter Senior Citizens Center in Nederland after Holly's father James LaPoint died in 2010 from lung and bladder cancer.
