Sixth graders Joshua Tran, left, and Eduardo Villalobos help Reading and Social Studies Teacher Dale LeBlanc put a cot on the roof of Central Middle School on Monday in Nederland. LeBlanc spent the night on the roof because students raised $3,304 for March of Dimes when their goal was $3,000. March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality through programs, education, advocacy and research. This is his fourth time to spend the night on the roof. "You have to set a goal and go for it," LeBlanc said. The 6th graders are responsible for most of the fundraising during lunches. The school has raised $54,500 in the 16 years that they have supported March of Dimes.
